A fugue with each part in different colors
Keeping track of polyphony isn’t easy so I like to color-code different voices of a Fugue. There is no better way to get familiar with each part than rewriting it and the scheme becomes clearer to the eye, the brain and – one can hope – to the ear of the listener. The above-pictured score is Alexander Rom’s “Gigue” from Partita (1989).
